Paparazzi Andrew

In case any one was wondering how it was that Steven was actually in some of the photos it is because once Andrew got hold of the camera he would not give it back…
We had a great laugh with him and Chris acting up walking down the street pretending to be professional photographers….good times

First day in London, a set on Flickr.

21/5/2011

Spent the day wondering around London with our family guides. It was a lovely sunny day and there was just so much going on. Started the day with breakfast at Carluccio’s and ended with dinner at the Falcon. Walked around Covent Garden, visited Chris’s flat & work place and sat in the Clapham Common. Also looked some of the shops especially the fabulously expensive shoes at Selfridges. The pics tell the stories

Finaly everyone together

Sheree and I started getting tired as the evening went on. The cider and wine probably helped. Gemma came around after work and we were finally all together for the first time in 3 years. Bex with a little help from Andrew cooked a lovely chicken, mushroom pasta, which really hit the spot. By this time we were so tired that we both started dosing off on the couch. Its hard to describe how good it felt being with everyone, feeling so happy, proud and content with our boys and their partners.

A couple of pics of eating dinner and a fox just relaxing in the garden at the back of the flat.

Arrived London

Just arrived into London. Andrew and Chris were at the airport to pick us up. It was absolutely the best feeling ever to see them both standing there and waving as we came out of customs.
Andrew drove us to his house in a nice hired BMW and thankfully the traffic flowed really well. We are felling great considering the long flight. We may go out to Piccadilly with everyone later. Its just so good to finally be here. 17 degrees and a little overcast. Andrew and Bex have a very nice one bedroom flat/apartment.  We are camping out on the pull down couch in the lounge.

Hong Kong

Sitting in transfer lounge at Hong Kong airport waiting for flight to board in about 10 mins. Had a very nice flight so far. Sitting next to a kiwi guy Graig Travis (he works at foodstuffs in CHCH and knows Phil Olsen). He is going to the uk to get married and he is really excited.
This leg of the journey is a bit longer at around 13 hrs so hope it does not drag on.
Felling pretty good so far and no jet lag thanks to homeopathic pills.

Leaving day

Well this is it the day we have been looking forward to for so long is finally here and we are really really really excited….like squirmy stomachs excited.

Just doing the final bits and pieces and getting in a panic about ‘have we remembered everything’. Just can’t wait to get on that plane. Once that happens there is no more you can do. If we have forgotten anything then to bad, cos the Sharpeze are gone, gone, gone.

Spoke to Andrew last night and he and Chris are picking us up at the airport in a flash BMW. Andrew is confident he knows his way around London. Real VIP treatment hehehe.

The day is a bit drizzly here in Dunedin but promises to be nicer later on. That suits us because we do not leave until 5:10pm for Auckland and then at 11pm we take off for the UK via a 1 hr stop over in Hong Kong.

Penny drove us to the airport and also took this pick of a couple of excited travelers just before leaving for the airport
